A straightforward virtual server

A fixed bundle of virtual CPU, memory, storage, and transfer. Usually the clearest starting point for a website, development environment, VPN, small database, or remote desktop.

Compute inside a larger platform

Virtual machines connected to APIs, identity, object storage, databases, private networking, and other managed services. Better when the architecture may grow beyond a single server.

DEDICATED / BARE METAL

One physical machine, one tenant

Dedicated hardware offers consistent access to the CPU, memory, disks, and network interface. Provisioning and replacement are slower than a virtual machine, but contention is reduced.

Acceleration for a specific job

A GPU is valuable only when the software, memory capacity, interconnect, and workload match. Model name alone does not describe real training, inference, rendering, or encoding performance.

Every managed option states who patches the operating system, watches alerts, verifies backups, responds to incidents, and can make changes—including coverage hours, exclusions, and response targets.
